Memories
I like painting pictures from my childhood, something about a painting that makes it slightly more magical as opposed to a photo. The nice thing too is the reaction from those that recognise the people and the place.

Nenthead
A friend of mine visits a little place in England called Nenthead once a year for some r+r. I insisted that he sends me some pics as the countryside is apparently very beautiful. Here are some little paintings of them. I don't know why it is but my landscapes always seem to come out looking slightly abstract! I just love putting lots of colour in when I get the chance to.
Lazy afternoons...
This is a scene from a Sunday afternoon on a particularly hot day at Whitlingham Hall in Norfolk. Every time we go, this little girl insists on packing up her basket with old bread and taking it to feed the ducks on the lake. They must know her by sight now as they rushed up to her as soon as they spotted her.
This piece measures 20"x16". Some people like detail in a painting, some don't. I prefer to leave a little to the imagination. This painting is simple. Just the way I like it.

Old work
I'm currently sorting a lot of old stuff out and came across a big portfolio of old drawings and paintings. I must have been nine when I did this. I really don't think I've done a better still life since!
